Cmd-left/right navigates history when not supposed to

Cmd-left/right should navigate history when focused on a webpage

But, currently it also nagivates history in the address bar, cmd-f bar, window edit/renaming, etc

history should not be navigated in these kinds of text fields

Open a new tab
Type something (eg. "Why is the sky blue")
Try using cmd-leftarrow to go to the start of the query. It will not work
Similarly, if you use your cursor to move the caret to the start of the query, cmd-rightarrow will not bring you to the end of the query

Click on a post (or otherwise navigate to another page)
Focus the address bar
Press cmd-leftarrow. Instead of moving to the start of the query, it performs the History -> Back action. Vice versa with cmd-rightarrow

This is likely a case of the cmd left and right shortcuts being bound to history forward and backward.

The cmd left and right shortcuts should follow the macOS system behaviour of navigating to the start and end of a line (respectively), especially in an address bar where using a mouse or spamming the arrow keys is counterproductive.

Even if you have selected certain fields such as the address bar or the name field in export as pdf, the command+arrow shortcut causes the page to change instead of moving the cursor

It feels like there may be a regression here (or a new issue?) - currently in Orion RC I am seeing Cmd + Right (with a text field focused) do nothing (rather than act as "End"), while Cmd + Left acts correctly as "home".

I also notice that, when a text field is selected, Cmd + Shift + Left will do "select back to home", but Cmd + Shift + Right is being intercepted by Orion to move to the next tab. Feels like something is wrong around keyboard shortcut and text input boxes on webpages.

This issue is reoccuring for me on RC 0.99.134.1-rc (WebKit 622.1.9.19.2) Build date June 30, 2025.

I often use CMD-LEFT and CMD-RIGHT for navigating in text fields and recently, Orion started to send me 'back' or 'forward' even when my focus (cursor) is in the text field while pressing the key combination.

Annoying... Requires me to work-around with using CTRL-A and CTRL-E which seem to work reliably, but ... well, old habits still keep sending me 'back' and lose what I was working on in online forms :-/

How can you call yourself a native mac app while overriding text navigation shortcuts with history navigation?

This has a heavy impact on a tab that was just opened from another page, because navigating back closes the tab. If the website doesn't prompt about unsaved data when closing the tab, my input data is lost.

On a related note, the orion docs say editing keyboard shortcuts is done through Apple's settings which allow configuring shortcuts based on menu items. Which is fine, but these cmd+arrow shortcuts aren't listed in a menu? Are there any other hidden shortcuts I have no control over?
