I noticed in the Orion iOS app (1.3.14 (9)) Webkit 8620.1.16.10.11) that it also states we can add Safari extension (Install from Disk), but the extensions do not reside in the Files app, which opens automatically when trying to add an extension.

Is there a trick I'm missing in adding a Safari extension on iOS, or is this a feature still 'in work'? Thanks

Tagmut67 I’m sorry. I should have stated that it states Install from File, not disk like Orion on MacOS

Installing safari extensions is solely for macOS

I noted that when installing a Safari Extension from TestFlight, it is installed directly into Safari with no choice of browser to target.

I honestly don’t remember, but expect that’s so from the App Store.

Perhaps similar to Apple having loosened its grip on default applications, they need to not presume and enforce that the only browser to install extensions to is Safari.

There are some excellent extensions, which are among the only occasions and reasons I use Safari, including

      Unobstruct https://apps.apple.com/app/id1255281426

      Vinegar https://apps.apple.com/app/id1591303229

      Baking Soda https://apps.apple.com/app/id1601151613

      StopTheMadness Pro https://apps.apple.com/app/id6471380298

      Makeover https://apps.apple.com/app/id1602361167

      So yeah, I’m into extensions!

Currently there is no way to use safari extensions on ios, and app store changes don't change anything regarding that

eirk, if an Apple installer could do it the way I see extensions installed by TestFlight, could this be done while targeting other compatible browsers if Apple provided that possibility?

That is, is the code on Orion for iOS compatible with Safari extensions, and the only thing lacking a way to install Safari extensions in the Orion browser?

It's not possible, as orion can't know what other apps/extensions are installed on ios, due to the restrictions placed all apps.

even if the code is compatible, it is not possible to actually know what extensions are installed, much less locate the code for them
