Orion iPad 1.3.13 crashes after launch, unable to support as many tabs as prior

Hello all.

I am one of those fools who works with hundreds of tabs at once.

No, I’m not kidding.

It works well for me, and in fact is one of the reasons that I love Orion Browser.

As of Orion 1.3.13 for iPad, after (apparently) trying to open my multifarious tabs, Orion quits — though iPadOS 18.1.1 and earlier versions maintains a blank (black) window for apps that have quit themselves.

It pains me to be using another browser to report this. I promise not to be quite so promiscuous with tabs in the future. What I’d like to do is (perhaps via TestFlight) download the immediately prior version of Orion Browser, to see If I can recover and bookmark the tabs I’ve come to rely on.

I expected for the browser upon launch to cogitate for a while, then perhaps reluctantly display icons of an embarrassingly-large number of tabs.

P.S.

Sometimes after a long while (perhaps half an hour or more) when viewing thumbnails of all open apps, I can see that the one for Orion displays one of my past tabs open.

This gives me hope that if I have the patience of Job and I just leave Orion to manage its memory (this is an iPad Air 5th generation, with M1 processor and 8 GB of RAM), that it may manage to display my mess and allow me to bookmark and close a whole great big bunch of tabs.

To date, no dice.

I’m familiar with TestFlight through work with other developers.

For what it’s worth, with the new Orion 1.3.14 release I have the same issue as in the original post.

That’s fascinating, thank you Vlad.

I wish there was a way to do this within the App Store, just as I have suggested separately there be a Tip Jar there. In my case, I have no means to make payments outside the App Store, and in the case of many others, the App Store is a “frictionless” way to pay for things, notwithstanding of course Apple’s 30% cut :/
