Hey all,
this issue is due to some backend changes on Google's end. A fix is in the works and I'd expect to see it quite soon.

    laiz This doesn't seem to explain why sometimes "install from disk" stops working, but I guess that would be a separate bug report.

        The Chromium Web Store extension didn't work for me, and neither was I able to download the Get CRX extension from the Chrome web store because, well, that's the whole problem we have right now—not being able to install extensions from the Chrome web store.

        This did however get me on the right track.

        TL;DR You can manually download the Get CRX extension using this link: https://crx-downloader.com/download?extension=https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/get-crx/dijpllakibenlejkbajahncialkbdkjc, then install it from disk using the Manage Extensions dialog, then you'll be able to use the Get CRX extension to download other extensions.

                      timdmackey neither was I able to download the Get CRX extension from the Chrome web store because, well, that's the whole problem we have right now—not being able to install extensions from the Chrome web store.

                      That is the entire reason I provided a download 🙂 using that website works too, of course, I had tried to find one like that but apparently couldn't.

                              If you press download, it will pop up as if it's down for 0.1 seconds, and then the download icon disappears.
                              And The original box only has a round-shaped loading sign..
                              (Even through I turned on the chrome extension in the settings)

                              Plz fix it……
