"Vimlike" Safari extension not working in Orion 0.99-130-beta

This version of Orion adds support for Safari extensions.

Vimlike is similar to extensions like Vimari, but more modern and cross platform (iOS/iPadOS/macOS).

I selected the existing extension (which is working fine in Safari) from my 'Applications' folder - there was a dialog box explaining the extension's access requirements and the install appeared to go correct.

All the preferences are available and I can activate/deactivate it without error.

But none of the keystrokes that would normally work (such as j/k to move through the document, and 'f' to select links) do anything.

To give this issue some traction. Here's the error one may find in the inspector of the extension:

It seems like method sendNativeMessage is returning something it's not supposed to. (Or maybe Safari's implementation of this method works differently and given that this extension is written for Safari in the first place it can be the source of problem). Judging by this page we should have support for this method in Orion.

Anyway, VIM-like is indeed is one of the best (both UI & UX) extensions which bring VIM bindings to browser. So, I hope this insight can help a little with this issue 🙂

To elaborate a bit more. It seems like, Safari is ofc very special in it's behavior.

In this doc, it says that:

Safari ignores the application.id parameter and only sends the message to the containing app’s native app extension

So my assumption would be that, Orion tries to send message to application.id = undefined, which in case of Safari extensions should probably be always replaced with connected native application.
