Sometimes when I doomscroll, I go to reddit.com in iOS Orion. It works well for quite some time, but then I enter some sort of bug state. My usage pattern is: I scroll through the endless front page and when I find something interesting, I open the thread. I mostly read the comments and then go back to the front page by using a right swipe. So far, so good.
The bug feel like it is triggered by some sort of memory leak. It only happen after a couple of minutes or tens of visited threads/long scrolls. That’s why it’s hard to reproduce it and to record it for you to understand it better.
Bug: when going to a thread from the front page it could happen that Orion “blacks out”. Everything becomes black, even the address bar is gone and it doesn’t react to any user input anymore. Only help is to restart Orion, and when I do that it happily opens the previously requested comment thread.
I am on iPhone XS.
It shouldn't blackscreen and it shouldn't make me restart Orion.
