  • Dismissing the device keyboard on Orion Start Page does not free up the screen space occupied by the keyboard

  • BugsMobileDone

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Install the latest Testflight build of Orion (1.3.12 (1))
  2. Open any tab
  3. Tap the address bar to navigate to a new address
  4. Orion Start Page with the user's Favorites and Frequently Visited pages opens
  5. Try to scroll down on that page
  6. The keyboard is dismissed but the bottom 40% of the screen is still occupied by the ghost of the keyboard
  7. It doesn't seem to be possible to get rid of that, making it impossible to view all of my frequently visited sites or favorites

Video of the issue:

Expected behavior:
It should be possible to neatly dismiss the keyboard, as is the case with the current App Store version.

Do you feel it is a regression or has it been like that for a while?

The issue doesn't exist on 1.3.11 (5) so it seems to have been added in last night's testflight build

I agree, the search box should not take up so much space once the keyboard is removed.

On the start page, with the keyboard open, it seems like scrolling is creating a visual bug where the contents of the keyboard disappear. On Safari, the visual bug does not occur and the keyboard slides closed.

Desired functionality is to close the keyboard on scroll similar to Safari. Usually I have the frequently visited section down there and I scroll the keyboard in order to click on a link below the keyboard.

          1.3.12 (1) (WebKit 8619.1.26.30.7)
          iOS 18.0.1

Merged 2 posts from Scrolling on start page causes keyboard bug.

              Fixed on Testflight build 1.3.12 (2) 🎉
