IOS .pkpass wallet download not working

I tried to download a xyz.pkpass file from a https://lu.ma/ event, it downloaded the file but I could not open it in my Wallet app. Even changing the filename to include .pkpass didn't allow me to open it in my Wallet app.

Following the exact same steps in Safari, the pkpass file was downloaded and added to my Wallet app.

When trying to add a pass to Apple wallet through a button from an email (Trainline in this specific case), it opens up Orion but does not trigger Apple wallet and let me add it to wallet.

Expected it to trigger Apple wallet to let me add my pass. Behaviour works when copying the link to safari.

Looks like this issue has returned.
I recently purchased tickets for a local event, and the booking confirmation page included an Add to Wallet link. Tapping the link downloaded the .pkpass file to my Downloads folder, but I could not add the file to Wallet.
Following the same link in Safari automatically prompted me to add the tickets to Wallet.

iOS 26.1 (23B85) - Link from Tutamail not working once defaulting to Orion, but works wit Safari as default.
