The new Orion RC (Version 0.99.128.2.1.1-rc (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2)) introduced the change "Don't show transparent titlebar when start page has a background image". This breaks parity with Safari's implementation of the feature, and also, I personally prefer having the title bar as transparent on the start page. For people who want a translucent/opaque title bar, a toggle might be added in the start page customization menu, or simply reverting back to the previous behaviour where disabling "Show website color for compact and vertical tabs" would also make the title bar non-transparent.
Safari implements a transparent title bar in compact tabs mode too.
