I have set the option Websites > External apps to either Ask or Deny. A click on a link still opens an external app on a Mac, without any confirmation, and there is no way to prevent it.
In particular, I am trying to view audiobook pages on audible.com, but the Audible app opens instead.
- Make a clean Orion profile
- Install Audible from the AppStore (it's an iPad compatible app)
- Search for this on either Kagi or Google: audible not till we are lost
- Click the link that links to the audiobook on audible.com (for me 1st result)
- Audible app opens, browser itself does not navigate to the url
If I have the "external apps" on Ask, it should ask me if I want that. If I have it on Deny, it should ignore the external apps and just open the url in the browser.
I also tried with compatibility mode on, but I guess that should not affect a global browser setting.
This happens for me every single time, in either normal or private window, clean Orion profile.
Unfortunately I cannot come up with another Mac app that utilizes deep links.
I am running Orion 0.99.128.2.1-beta (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2) on macOS Sequoia 15.0, Mac Studio M1 Max
