There should be something like the popular extensions list, but with verified working extensions for Orion. For now you need to download a working version from Popular Extensions and then disable updating for it to not get overwritten by newer version that isn't compatible. This however means that the extension will never be updated and there is no way to know when a new compatible version is available.

It would be pretty much a mini extension store for Orion. You would install for example Bitwarden (Let's use this as an example since the latest version doesn't work properly) from it. It would pull the latest verified compatible version with Orion and install it. Once a newer version is available and vetted working, it would be pushed into the store and Orion would pull the newer version automatically.

Understood. The name is a bit confusing tho. It would be nice if it had some update system as mentioned.

rafajrichard It has an update system, we just do not have resources to check that every extension works each time they publish an update.

Vlad When I click update in extension settings, even if installed via the popular extensions menu, it updates to the latest available version regardless, not the latest "verified"version. So the update system doesn't work properly.

rafajrichard It does work as intended, as explained before we do not have resources to verify every new version of extension.

Vlad So the expected behavior is to immediately overwrite it with the latest version while updating? I'm not saying that Orion devs should verify every release, but there should be a way to keep the extension on the last "verified" version and the ability to update it automatically once the devs verify a newer version.

But then the extension NEVER updates, even if there is a newer compatible version available. I'm providing a suggestion for the future, not complaining about a bug. This is only a botch solution to the problem.

rafajrichard I think you want it to update to the latest verified version, where latest verified version is already the one provided by popular extensions. So I am not sure what the ask is?

Well there is no mechanism to do that update to the latest verified version. If I select update, it updates to the latest version available in the extension store, not the one verified by Orion. If I disable updates manually, it will never update, even if Orion verifies a new version down the line. Also there is no way to see which version is verified so now the only way to check is to completely uninstall and reinstall the extension.
