Clicking the reader mode button in the toolbar causes Orion to immediately crash. After reopening it and re-navigating to the page, clicking the button again usually works (of the 5 times this has happened, there was 1 occurrence of it happening twice in a row.

Installed extensions:

  • Bitwarden Password Manager (2024.6.3) for Firefox
  • Save to Pocket (4.0.6) for Chrome
  • uBlock Origin (1.58.0) for Firefox

    As a frequent user of reader mode, I have not encountered a crash in a very, very long time. If you have the time, it would be helpful if you could see whether you can cause a crash using a fresh Orion profile. So we can rule out any potential extension issues.

    Interesting new data point: I was just able to enable reader mode on my original example URL in a private tab, but then when I tried to enable reader mode on the same URL in a non-private tab of the same profile, it crashed.

      ditto4356 Always try to reproduce the problem ith a new clean orion profile, and walk from there.

          ditto4356 I can consistently reproduce clicking on the "Show Reader" toolbar button, though not on clicking the one that shows in the Location Bar on mousing over it.

              I was able to reproduce this issue in the latest RC using the toolbar icon in a clean profile with the given url.
