  1. Join a Google Meet on Orion
  2. Check menu bar camera icon
  3. Configure studio lighting and portait settings

After (3) you would expect the video to change in the Google Meet. However nothing seems to happen here.

This was previously reported here and was confirmed to be fixed, but seems to have not been fixed as of yet: https://discord.com/channels/802933355603034132/1262677162260168796/1263152748858310786

(This is a regression, it used to work previously)

This is a dealbreaker, is there an ETA for this?

      Thank you all

This has btw gotten worse again in the latest RC (Version 0.99.128.2.1-beta (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2) & macOS 15.0) which only shows the microphone preview again instead of the video & microphone preview in the menu bar dropdown.

          Summary

When attempting to apply camera or mic settings using macOS's menu with Orion, the changes do not take effect. Settings like Studio Light, Portrait or Background do not apply at all.

          Steps to Reproduce

          1. Connect a webcam/external microphone
          2. Go to meet.google.com
          3. Go to the macOS camera/mic settings popup and change settings

          Environment

          • Device: MacBook Pro M1 2021
          • OS: 15.1 Beta (24B5055e)

          Expected Result

The settings should be applied to the feed of the video or the audio.

          Actual Result

          Nothing happens.

I've seen this fixed for the video effects, so thank you for that!

However, the audio effects (standard, voice isolation) still doesn't work (got ignored and always operate in standard mode). It used to work before on the July 2024 version. Orion was also the only browser capable of utilising macOS' audio effects consistently (not even Apple's own Safari could do that). I would greatly appreciate if this could be fixed. Thank you!
