Vlad, latest update solved the issue of Syncthing UI and Synology UI issues/freezes
Orion frequently freezes up on macOS 15 public beta
Spoke too soon. this is so bad. the cursor disappears most of the time which I believe is the cause of this freeze bug. most websites, you cant see the text cursor like this box
rightsaidfred can you please let us know if Orion is still freezing and becoming non-responsive with the latest release? I suspect there are more then one specific issues, so we want to tackle them one-by-one, as that will make it easier to debug and fix those.

not only macos 15 I guess, I see the same on Sonoma...
I really wanna love Orion, even subscribed to it, but it feels kind of unusable as of now unfortunately
Vlad I found today that I may have too many tabs on a “tab window”, it makes Orion slow down a ton in here (although I imported that same tab group from safari where it runs pretty fine with all 98 tabs open.
Another thing I found is that low power mode really drags the whole performance of the browser to its knees, I disabled it
From my side, I confirm that the latest versions seem not to freeze anymore.

Happening to me lots on Youtube, usually with a few Youtube tabs open. Refresh solves it.

I'm seeing regular crashes of Orion 0.99.128.2.1-beta on macOS 15.0 Developer Beta. Compatibility mode does not help. I use Orion mainly for CAD (cad.onshape.com) and Orion (orionfeedback.org). I had no crashes for 6 months using Onshape in Orion under previous (non beta) macOS versions. Is there debug information I can post after a crash to help debug?
Update: also crashes when just browsing orionfeedback.org (often crashes in the background, when the Orion window is not active).
Recently, I treat “blinking cursor gone” or any text field “keyboard entry problems” as “time to close all tabs and restart Orion”.
The sporadic freezing still sometimes happens on the latest beta versions (not using RC). MacOS 18 latest public beta.
Cheers
Apart from that, it's no longer a problem for me. The stable version of Orion is now ... stable

Just to clarify. Meaning you -do- have the issue i described yesterday or not?
As you write "apart from that".

dino I went back to Version 0.99.128.2.1-beta (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2) and no issues. Well, the major one I see is BW extension doesn't interact with Orion but no freezes to report as of this post. On an M1 with 14.6.1
ReneB sorry .. translation.
I meant to write: I don't have these problems at all anymore.
But in the meantime I updated Sonoma to the latest update and Orion crashed 3 times in a row -_-
Version 0.99.128.2.1-beta (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2)
I also started having problems when updating to Sequoia (non beta) when it was released. I have not found out how to reproduce it yet, but it happens several times every day. I also noticed that the extension for 1password sometimes "freezes" in the sense that the popup in the top right corner that says "Save in 1password"(or something similar) just stays there, blocking anything that might be underneath from interaction. A tab reload solves this. Will update if I find a way to reproduce. This is the most severe bug I have had in Orion so far, almost to the point of not usable.
comatose_tortoise Probably caused by extensions you use. Can you try with a new clean orion profile?
I also have this freezing issue (it did it on MacOS 14.x as well as the new 15) - the browser just hangs for a few seconds. It can be when I am just browsing a site, or if I am re-arranging any bookmarks. I have no extensions/plug-ins installed - a fairly vanilla install. I also get frequent crashes when using "Show Reader" mode on some websites - I have been submitting crash reports for each of these.
I will try...
