When only one profile is open, all links should open in that profile

Chrome and Brave behave like this:

I have multiple "profiles" that run independently by configuring different "data-dir" directories, and launching them individually.
They appear as individual applications.
When I only have 1 instance running (regardless of profile), web links (i.e. from MS Teams) opens in that already open instance.
In Orion, it does not behave that way.
I can select a default browser (available options are existing profiles, or a "fallback" plain Orion that opens a preview page).

Options (updated 6/17/2024):

Single open option
a. If only 1 Orion profile is open, the web link opens in that Orion profile.
b. If 0 or 2 or more are open, I do not know what the behavior should be.
Multi-open option
a. When a link is clicked in an app OTHER than Orion, the user is presented with a Dialog box.
b. The dialog box asks the user which profile to use for the link being opened.
c. The dialog box shows all profiles, and indicates which ones are already open.
d. It could show the profiles in order of last used.

It would be a HUGE step up for Orion over any other browser if certain source apps (i.e. MS Teams, Slack, etc.) could open different Orion Profiles. I only use MS Teams with one client, so that client's Orion profile would open, for example.

arnpic Orion already has an option to open link in 'last active profile'. Does that not work for you?

Are you using Orion's profiles or are you using your own version.

The current setup is that if more than 1 profile is open links from other applications will open into the Orion profile last used.

It has been buggy in the past e.g. https://orionfeedback.org/d/7773-opening-from-other-apps-does-not-open-in-last-used-profile/6 but seems OK now for me in Version 0.99.127.3-beta (WebKit 619.1.1)

bestlem I am using Orion's, which is much better than all of the other browsers! I would just like a bit more control over which profile links get opened in. I wouldn't even be opposed to a dialog box that asks me which profile to use for the link I'm trying to open. It could be configured to show all profiles, and to indicate which ones are already open. I don't know if the OS gives Orion that much control, but that would be awesome!!!

Vlad, "last active profile" is good, and if that's all I can get, I can make do. But it would be nice to have a more fine-tuned arrangement.

I might have accidentally created another ticket for this because I recall explaining that for one client, I use MS Teams. So it would be great if Teams links opened with Orion Profile A. At the same time, I use Slack for another client, so those links should open with Orion Profile B.

Perhaps that is beyond what a browser can control within OSX.
