  • Regression: 0.99.127.3.2-rc process names no longer contain website URLs

  • BugsDesktopDone

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install Version 0.99.127.3.2-rc (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2)
  2. Open some tabs, e.g. https://news.ycombinator.com/ https://lobste.rs/ https://kagi.com/orion/
  3. Look at Activity monitor process names
  4. Notice that they all are called Orion RC Web Content

Expected behavior:
Orion Version 0.99.127.3-beta (WebKit 619.1.1) works as expected:

Orion and macOS versions:

0.99.127.3.2-rc (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2)

Sonoma (14)

FYI, Activity Monitor on macOS Mojave and Catalina still doesn't show the URL associated with the process in Activity Monitor with the new RC (using [Version 0.99.127.3.3-rc (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2) / Build date Jun 13 2024]).

If this is a limitation of those versions of the OS (i.e. can't be fixed or can't be fixed without a completely different solution only applicable to those versions of the OS) then understand and please just add a note about minimum OS version required to have this feature.

      a month later

Note I still don't see URL in the process name on Mojave and Catalina with the latest RC [Version 0.99.128-rc (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2) / Build date Jul 10 2024). Understand if not possible for those OS but please confirm and I won't ask about for them again.
