Typing in a textarea results in text appearing and jumping around
@vlad This is killing me too. It took me several weeks to figure out what was making the text jump around, and then I decided to check here before posting.
It's really brutal, even on this site. When a word is suggested, it puts it in the wrong place initially.
I can create a video if you wish.
There are a few examples in this video, recorded in this form on this board so you'd know the provenance of the editor. I got it to stick near the end.

This bug only happens when the user has Show inline predictive text
enabled in macOS input settings:
You can disable that setting while waiting for it to be fixed in a future release.
Recently updated to Version 0.99.128-beta (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2), and I can't find anything in the settings, but is there some kind of AI-powered autocomplete going on in textareas now?
To my knowledge, I'm not using any browser extensions that would do this. And I can't see anything in the settings. Maybe it's a macOS native thing?
But just in case it is coming from Orion, I see that the autocomplete is causing text to jump around and get corrupted. I'll take a screen recording while I type in this textarea to show the problem in practice.
Attached GIF shows the problem (specifically when I'm typing the first few words of that sentence). I would expect the text to just get appended as I type, but you can see a piece of text from the first paragraph suddenly flash out of existence and reappear below the bottom paragraph where I am typing, and then flash back. This happens a couple of times.
I also wondered if it might be website specific, but it isn't. It happens in GitHub (badly corrupting the text). It happens here (the problem seems to be cosmetic here; it doesn't permanently mutate the buffer). It happens on datadog.com (the one other site I tested this on).
To try and rule out OS-specific origin; I repeated the test in Chrome and all of those sites seem to work fine there.

Thanks for this tip, as it's allowed me to disable this and other smart settings globally. Thought it was only an Orion thing because I don't type much in other apps that aren't the terminal or VSCode.
However, while it was enabled, I've also pretty consistently gotten the bugs mentioned above. That is, the cursor would move around, or chunks of text would get moved around to my cursor, or even sometimes letters would just get dropped as I was typing a word. Those only happened in Orion after a recent update.
