it entails porting the compact tabs implementation into the iPad app. It would be huge to allow much more usable screen real estate on the iPad, which is the biggest struggle. I think that it would make the iPad experience much cleaner, as well as allowing it to remain consistent across iPad and Mac.
Apple has done that exact thing on their Safari browser, albeit with their implementation of comact tabs.
