Hold ⇧ to open external links in Preview

I am a long-time user of Alfred and I have been using Orion for a year now. I liked the "Link Preview" feature that external links open in Preview, but it also tries to open links in Preview when I open one through Alfred(bookmarks etc.), which doesn’t make sense.

So my suggestion is the option to open external links in Preview while holding ⇧. Then Alfred can open links directly in Orion and for external links and I can hold ⇧ if I want links to be shown in Preview. Or at least maybe an option to disable the feature for Alfred.

Right now, I can't use the "Link Preview" feature because I have to hold ⇧ when opening any link with Alfred.

Vlad This option cause links opened by Alfred to be shown in Preview. I cannot hold ⇧ for all the links I open with Alfred. I would need vice versa of the option so I can willingly open any external link(including ones opened by Alfred) holding ⇧ to open in Preview.

JYY You can disable the option, and then use shift to open links in preview outside of alfred holding shift?

Vlad I have a simpler use-case that also calls for a vice-versa of the option—i.e. "Hold shift to open external links in Preview":

Most of the time, I want a link opened in the regular Orion browser—it's only occasionally that I want the link to open in Preview (and when I do that's a cool feature to have). It's not natural for me to hold down shift most of the time, to get the behavior I've always associated with a click before now: it would be way more learnable for me to hold shift when I want the exceptional behavior of opening the link in Preview.

PhilMac That is already possible? just uncheck the option highlited above.

Vlad No, what I mean is that I do want the preview window to open sometimes—a minority of times—and I what I want is to be able to make that happen by holding down shift. Right now, I have to hold down shift to make it not happen.

Put another way, the preview window is a great feature; I just want the option to opt-in to it each time I do want it, rather than having to opt-out of it each time I don't want it.
