This is a strange one – you can view a YouTube video singly, or as part of a playlist. Playlist videos will sometimes try to refresh themselves, reloading the page over and over after a few seconds. Private or public playlists have the same behavior. The tab containing the video does not have to have focus for the refreshing to occur. Very peculiar!
This will happen for a few days on any YouTube playlist, then stop for days, then begin again. The only thing I can think to do is restart the browser, but even that is no guarantee. What is a guarantee is opening the same video singly, not viewed as part of a playlist.
