Maxi Interesting I don't see the website URL for my Orion process in the Process Name of Activity Monitor. At least under Mojave and Catalina. They all show up as Orion Web Content.
@Vlad Is this a capability only possible in later versions of macOS?
By the way, does Orion create one process for each window and one thread for each tab? If so under this feature does that mean the displayed URL under Process Name is the active tab?
As browsers have become de facto OS, it would be nice to have tools equivalent to traditional OS management tools like top (ps/kill/etc). Using the host OS's functionality for this is fine as long as we can trace each window/tab to a specfic process and vice-versa back to a window/tab.
In this case, I agree with the original poster that if a user kills a process supporting a browser window/tab, I wouldn't automatically restart it. I assume that could be differentiated by the signal the process receives -- SIGQUIT/SIGTERM versus SIGILL/SIGBUG/SIGSEGV/etc. Automatically restarting processes after the latter with the option of a crash report is nice while the former should probably just hold the window with a button to refresh/restart it (in an ideal world possibly capturing process activity immediately prior to receiving the SIGQUIT so the user would have more information to include with a report of a frozen/runaway window/tab).
