- Open a Google Doc that's large enough you can scroll
- Scroll down the document a bit
- Click the name of the window in Orion's toolbar (the widget which shows a popup with a list of saved windows to switch to)
- Notice that the Google Doc scrolls to the top
I have also observed this happens when switching tabs—if I switch away to another tab and then switch back to the tab with the Google Doc, the doc has been scrolled up (not always to the top, but sometimes).
Note: This is NOT a spontaneous page reload—the page remains loaded, the doc just scrolls.
I had initially thought this was due to click events or similar being passed through from the toolbar to the underlying page, but a quick experiment shows this is not the case. (The experiment I did was: open about:blank
and then set window.onclick = console.log;
in the JS console, and no log messages were emitted.)
I expected the scroll position of the Google Doc to remain the same.
