Currently I use an extension (Video Speed Controller: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/video-speed-controller/nffaoalbilbmmfgbnbgppjihopabppdk) to allow me to control playback speed on any video on any website. This extension is a must-have for me, and it would be nice if it was natively built into Orion.

The extension I use adds a tiny overlay to the video player, which displays the current playback speed.

When you hover over it, it expands with buttons to control speed at 0.1x increments.

Another feature that I really like is keyboard shortcuts for manipulating the speed

  • 'r' to toggle back to 1x (and pressing again goes back to previous speed you were at
  • 'd' to increase speed by 0.1x
  • 's' to decrease speed by 0.1x
(these shortcuts only work when the video player element has focus)

Vlad FWIW I just tested on YouTube and Vimeo on iPad OS and the extension does work. But I agree with OP that this is a must-have extension for me and would be nice to be built in similar to YT ad block and YT PiPifier
