Is everyone else able to stream Netflix using recent versions of Orion? I ask because I get the same error message when I actually click to play a show on Netflix regardless of what I do from both a system running Mojave and another running Catalina across multiple versions of Orion trying with all the Compatability Mode stuff on and still I get the same error message: S7701-1003

It means that your Safari browser is in Private Browsing mode

However, I've tried both from regular and private windows (note I don't even get this error message even when actually in private mode using Mojave's last Safari). I've enabled Compatability Mode and checked that Cookies and JavaScript are enabled and Content Blockers and Intelligent Tracking Protection are off. User Agent is automatically Safari while I access Netflix.

I expected to be able to stream shows from Netflix using Orion.

Ideally at the same resolution as Safari on that system (i.e. ideally at 1080p prior to Big Sur and though I don't care ideally for others at 4K starting with Big Sur and above).

Ideally from either a regular or private window and ideally without having to enable Compatability Mode. However, these requirements aren't that important. I only mention because Safari works this way on the same system.

Version 0.99.127-rc (WebKit 619.1.1)

Mojave (10.14)

I just tested it on 127-rc and could stream without issue or delay. I am on Sonoma 14.1, though.

bebowilson thanks Bebowilson, I assumed I wasn't the only person here who uses Netflix but wanted to confirm. I will spinup my Monterey test installation (and then if necessary create a Sonoma installation) to test further. It would be weird if Netflix didn't like Orion/{Mojave/Catalina} but was fine with Orion/Sonoma, etc.

QQ if you know offhand -- are you streaming at 1080p and/or 4K through Orion? Or does Netflix downgrade you to 720p since you aren't on "the real Safari" (or Chrome)?

bzgnyc The issue seams Mojave only, as I was able to play NetFlix videos on my Catalina machine with latest Orion release.

dino I thought I also tested on Catalina but it definitely started streamining normally a few minutes ago on my Catalina system with Beta-126.4 and RC-127. Then tested again and got the same error as before with RC-127 on my Mojave system. So must be another Mojave-specific issue.

Thanks everyone for testing on your systems to help isolate the issue!

FYI I tested with the latest RC [Version 0.99.127.3-rc (WebKit 619.1.1)] on Mojave and still can't stream Netflix with Orion on that system. A fix for this issue wasn't mentioned in the Release Notes but I tested just in case.

This and the unbounded memory consumption when streaming that other site (https://orionfeedback.org/d/7321-unusual-memory-usage-during-video-streaming-with-latest-rc-mojave) are the two issues that keep me from removing Safari from the Dock on that system...

Note just checked with latest RC [Version 0.99.128-rc (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2) / Build date Jul 10 2024] and still can't use with Netflix on Mojave.
