So after #7243 happened I decided to try restoring the workspace again. Clicking ot "restore snapshot" provided me with a confirmation telling me that the snapshot was made at... the same minute I restored the snapshot. So it seems restoring a snapshot makes a new one at the same time after restoring. Why? If the process goes wrong (like in #7243) you end up with both a broken snapshot and broken workspace with no means of recovery.
expected it not to take a snapshot upon restoring one
