Address bar is pretty slow generally to type in, and is generally laggy/low frame rate it feels like when you tap into it from anywhere.

It happens just about every time I tap into it.

Additionally, typing in the address bar can sometimes feel slow. More of a feeling than an issue. The text input doesn’t feel as quick/snappy.

    This looks frustrating. I’m on iPhone 12 and haven’t experienced this. I’m wondering if this issue is exacerbated by one of the following:

    1. Hardware, such as old iPhone version, low storage, battery savings mode, etc. It would be useful if you shared some relevant system specs and recorded the same action on the Safari browser. Are you experiencing lag on any other apps?

    2. Software, such as too many Orion tabs open, too many plugins, etc. I would still call this a bug, but you could narrow this down to something like “typing laggy when too many tabs open” which would be easier for the devs to fix.

      artemvmin I’m on an iPhone 15 pro, latest version of iOS and Orion doesn’t really have many tabs open either.

      I have a 128 gb storage with 30 gb free as well so not really a storage issue. I only have the 1Password extension.

          Zachb performance is also like this not in low power mode. It is pretty much every time I use the address bar.

              Zachb Not able to reproduce this. Can you try closing all tabs?

                  Vlad closed all tabs except this one and it still was slow. The only thing I can think of is that I maybe have a fair amount of bookmarks on that screen. I attempted to open the bookmark folders and they are also slow.

                          Vlad yep, that completely fixes it. Address bar is quick and snappy now. Must be frequently visited and favorites.

                              Zachb when I only allow frequently visited it’s fine. Showing more on only frequently visited slows it down slightly.

                              Just favorites makes it laggy again.

                                  I have the same issue. Disabling Favorites fixes it, but that's not really a solution. Unfortunately, everything runs at 10-15 fps with that option enabled, including the settings pop-up menu animation. I have around 200 to 300 bookmarks neatly organised into folders, which is likely contributing to the problem. However, since Safari doesn't have this issue, I'd say Orion's Favorites renderer is poorly optimised.
