uBO on ios doesn't work properly
UBlock Origin doesn't work, sometimes
I noticed similar issues. I think the reason is that Orion on iOS supports fewer Web Extension APIs than it does on desktop (see the list below). As far as I know, uBlock Origin makes heavy use of the webRequest API, and this seems to be mostly unsupported on iOS. So I decided for me to use uBlock Origin only with the Mac version and rely on Orion’s built-in content blocking on iOS.
When using the uBlock Origin browser extension on iPhone or iPad, it is unable to block any ads or trackers on webpages. The displayed interception count always remains at 0. This result is consistent whether downloading the version from Chrome or Firefox's software store.
The Mac version of Orion has average support for Tampermonkey, but fortunately everything works fine when using Violentmonkey. I hope that Orion can better support extensions like uBlock Origin and Tampermonkey, especially on the iPhone and iPad versions.

I have a crash that I can repeat with the latest version of Orion:
- Open Orion (0.99.127.2-beta (WebKit 619.1.1)) with existing tabs in your profile from your last session
- Make sure you have uBlock Origin extension installed (Firefox version, I am running uBlock Origin 1.57.2)
- For some obscure reason having uBlock Origin enabled at the moment, all pages never complete the load (I am not the only one experiencing this, Yum on Discord had it as well)
- I go to Tools > Extensions > Manage Extensions...
- Disable uBlock Origin
- Bam crash
I am attaching the crash log.
I notice that when I re-run Orion, the uBlock Origin is disabled, if I go back to enable it and disable without closing the window, it doesn't crash, so I guess it is related to pages not loading.
Expected: Orion should not crash.
Unrelated or related, I don't know, but pages don't load with uBlock Origin enabled right now. Obviously pages should be loading at all times when there is connectivity.
Running on macOS Sonoma 14.0, Mac Studio M1 Max
0.99.127.2-beta, Sonoma 14.0

I haven't experienced a crash, but I'm having the same problem where no web pages will load at all with uBlock Origin enabled. (I just started using UBO today so I don't know if it would have ever previously worked.)
In addition, once it's in this state, I can't disable UBO without first closing out Orion and re-opening it. If it's stuck on loading a page, the extension refuses to be disabled.
Also, clicking on the extension icon does nothing; there is no options dialog at all, not even an empty one.
Version 0.99.127.2-beta (WebKit 619.1.1)
MacBook Pro (macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 build 23E224)
Getting uBlock Origin to work at 100% should have been a priority from the very start
As good as the internal content blocker is it will never deliver the same flexibility and blocking capability as uBO
When uBO works as good as it does in Firefox I will make Orion my daily driver browser
Just tried the new Orion update (0.99.127.3-beta (WebKit 619.1.1)) and it's still crashing, and infinitely loading websites with uBlock Origin enabled.
dino interestingly, it's not reproducible in a new clean profile.
You gave me an idea, I uninstalled uBlock Origin in my main profile, then reinstalled it. It is loading websites normally now, and disabling uBlock Origin no longer crashes Orion.
Still, hopefully you can fix the crash bug for anyone else who might be experiencing the issues.
I had the same issue (crashes on disabling, impossible loading of any pages), on the lastest non-paid version of the beta browser (updated few minutes ago). Sent a crash report via the automatic pop-up on browser's restart.
I'll try to uninstall / fresh install uBlock Origin, as it seems to have worked with @frin ...
I hope for a fix, but it is all i can do (i am code illiterate ..
nice day to all

I installed uBlock Origin 1.45.2 (both Add-on and Extension) on Orion Browser 1.2 (iOS) there was an error showing that uBlock Origin's interface was dark, not seeing the options of uBlock Origin clearly.
Hope Dev will fix the above error soon.
I thank you!
uBO isnt fully suported on iOS

I can't believe this issue still exists, four years later after it's been flagged.
I just tried Orion again. I tried a new profile. I tried a clean install of uBo. The exact same error persists.
- Ads are shown, and cosmetic filters are not applied, until the page is refreshed.
- Steps for reproduction: more than ten of us have provided them in this thread. There are in depth text steps. There are videos.
Fixes to the bug were 'planned for next release' in July of 2023.
@Vlad said in November 2023 that uBO not blocking ads on page load is new information to him.
catch-22 replied saying this has been the exact issue since 2021.
As Anatomy5803 said, this is the highest voted bug in Orion.
It's 2025, this thread is now derailed with people talking about how uBO doesn't work on the iOS version of Orion. It's still not fixed on the MacOS release after four years.
We get it - beta, small team, limited resources. But this has been known for a long time. We've all gone out of our way to show different ways to reproduce it.
I don't think it's crazy to ask if there are plans to address this issue, as it approaches its fifth birthday.

I noticed that for me it was only happening on a new tab/window.
So I changed "new window/tab open with" from Start Page to Empty Page, which seems to have fixed it.Could also reproduce it again by switching it back to Start Page.
It does not matter if you click on something on the start page or manually enter something in the URL bar.
Looks like loading a page from the Start Page breaks the adblockers somehow.
I've just tested this out and and it works for me too. uBO works with adblock and cosmetic blockers if a page is opened from a blank page.
However, if the site is opened from the Start Page, or any other webpage, the problem as described (needing to refresh the page before uBO will block ads and apply cosmetic filters) persists.
Edit: Just tried on the latest Orion+ RC. Issue persists.
newtoorion unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a priority as they're focussing on the built-in adblocker. It puzzles me a bit as I don't get why you wouldn't just support the golden standard in adblocking and be done with it, especially when Orion's USP has always been being able to install Chrome/Firefox extensions.
