The feature is for information density in the sidebar while viewing folders for bookmarks and bookmarks themselves.

reduce the font sizes as well as the spacing between each line of text?
like what firefox is doing for the sidebar of bookmarks:

    mazil macOS has a system-wide setting for this sort of thing (that is ignored in Orion).

      Ignoring something is different than feature not being implemented, which is the case here.

      Can someone make mockups of what would different macOS settings map to?

        Vlad

        I don't know how to produce mockups but here is a video comapring differnt macOS settings in safari and orion sidebar. (upper right is Orion and lower right is Safari)

        However, it seems in Booksmark items in Safari won't change size while changing between different macOS settings.

          mazil So both Safari and Orion do not react to the macOS setting?

            Vlad

            For bookmarks, no. But Safari has relatively more compact bookmarks than Orion by default.
            For windows/tab groups, Safari will respond to macOS setting.

              @Vlad

              Maybe this would be a different feature request, but rather than respecting MacOS's settings, might it make more sense to implement a feature that allows users to adjust the size of the sidebar font (either smaller or larger) independently of MacOS's settings, regardless of whether the side bar is showing Windows, Tabs, Bookmarks, or the Reading List? If so, ideally the sidebar icon size would automatically change with the sidebar font so that the font size and icon size are always proportionate to each other.

              If this should be a different feature request, let me know and I can request it specifically.
