When the orion browser is initially opened (fully quit and then reopened), 1password launches two tabs stating that it couldn't load and needed to be restart, however after that it still doesn't work.
I expected 1password to work as normal and not crash

For me clearing the cache fixed this problem.
I had it in the clean profile when installing from googla/firefox/popular extensions tab.
After installation 1Password started launching lots of tabs, close them, launch them again, until I disabled/uninstalled the extension
After clearing the cache, everything works as usual
For those who are still running into this problem, it took me two tries with the following steps:
Since 1Password was still crashing after I did this once, I ran through it a second time while documenting the precise steps I was taking to write this response. After doing it the second time, 1Password hasn't crashed. It still doesn't work on every site (ally.com, for example), but at least it's usable on some!
kennis-koldewyn thanks for posting this. I've tried the instructions twice and I didn't help me - I'll keep trying. On one of my attempts this morning I tried downloading the 1Password browser extenstion (Firefox version) directly from the 1Password site and my browser started cycling between the 1Password needed to restart error message and the 1Password download site. I finally had to quit all the related windows to get control of my browser again.
Orion seems to behave better than Orion RC but the 1Password functionality (or lack thereof) may send be back to Safari. It's been my biggest frustration with Orion.
