[Mojave] Character Viewer input forces page to reload

On Mojave, when using the Character Viewer (Emojis & Symbols) while inputting text / writing a message, clicking any emoji or character causes the page to reload.

To reproduce:

1. Load any webpage that lets you input text, E.g., kagi dot com, writing a comment on Orionfeedback, etc.
2. Click on the search box.
3. Control+cmd+space or click 'Show Emoji & Symbols' on the Menu Bar to bring up the Character Viewer.
4. Click on any character or emoji.

What did you expect to happen?:
Able to add characters without it reloading the page.

beta 0.99.126.3 (WebKit 618.1.2),
0.99.126.3-rc,
0.99.126.3.1-rc,
macOS 10.14.6

Compatibility Mode?:
No difference.

Without Extensions?:
No difference.

Does it happen on Safari?:
No. Both Orion and Safari on Sonoma 14.1.1 do not have this bug.
