  • Web Inspector causing high CPU usage even though it's not even open

  • BugsDesktopDone

What happened? How did it happen? What are the steps to replicate the issue.
This is how my activity monitor looks like even though I didn't have the web inspector open for a while.

I've also attached two process samples.

I don't know how to clearly reproduce this, for now restarting Orion solved the issue but I still wanted to open this in case someone else has to issue or the two process samples show something useful. I also just updated to RC8 so I don't know if this version also contains this bug.

What did you expect to happen? Describe the desired functionality.
Not 100% CPU usage in the case where I don't do anything in the browser and don't have the web inspector open.

What version of Orion are you running?
Version 0.99.125.7-rc (WebKit 618.1.1)
macOS 14.1
M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16"

I don't have a consistent way to reproduce this. I've updated to 0.99.125.8-rc now and will look out for it in the next days to see if it happens again.

I do sometimes have issues with Orion processes using high CPU but there is no clear way to reproduce it and it didn't happen again with the web inspector. This can be closed.
