What does your feature entail? What is it for? How will it affect existing workflows or user experience?

Before joining a Google Meet, there is a camera preview screen. This is where you can select your audio input/output as well as camera device. This preview works fine on Chrome and Arc. However, in Orion the preview area is black where the video feed from the camera should be. It should be noted that the camera works after joining the meeting.

What are the exact ways that you see a user using your proposed feature? Please go into as much detail as possible, and provide examples of how other browsers/apps implement this feature, if applicable. If your feature suggestion adds on to an existing feature, how would it work into it to extend its usefulness?
This is a well known feature that is used to make sure you have the correct camera selected as well as making sure your camera feed looks the way you want it to before joining a meeting.

ekrl Can you confirm if this works in Safari?

I tested this in latest Orion RC (Version 0.99.125.7-rc (WebKit 618.1.1)) and it worked as expected.

      My test reproduction steps:

      1. Create a meeting invite
      2. Google puts you into the meeting in a tab. Copy URL of meeting, close tab.
      3. Open new tab, paste URL of meeting.
      4. Orion requests permission for Meet to use Camera, grant permission once.
      5. Camera preview appears in the pre-meeting lobby screen.

      For example:

(Camera is working fine, that is what the inside of the camera cover looks like)

I can confirm camera preview works in Orion version 0.99.125.7-rc (WebKit 618.1.1).
I had camera (and microphone) permissions for Google Meet set to Ask but I never got the popup asking for the permission so I had to reset the permissions before Orion would finally ask me for the permission.

Terminal commands for resetting camera (and mic) permissions:

      tccutil reset Camera com.kagi.kagimacOS.RC

      tccutil reset Microphone com.kagi.kagimacOS.RC

Vlad Yes, confirmed it does work in Safari. But it looks like this is working in RC as well so that's great news.
