Deep links automatically load instead of the actual web page.

What happened? How did it happen? What are the steps to replicate the issue.
Deep link loads upon clicking a link instead of directing the user to the actual link.

The attached video contains an example of this happening with GroupMe. Video also contains steps to replicate the issue on GroupMe.

1. Go to https://www.groupme.com
2. Click "Sign in"
3. Result

What did you expect to happen? Describe the desired functionality.
I expect to reach the sign in page instead of reaching a deep link.

However, this may be strictly a Webkit issue as this does not happen with Firefox and Chrome (but it does happen with Safari).

See attached video for Safari Version 17.0 (19616.1.27.211.1). Safari however is at least able to automatically redirect to the actual link upon showing the error.

For Firefox and Chrome, the sign in page is immediately directed into.
