Steps to reproduce:

  1. Press a shortcut in the the Ctrl + Command Series(Sidebar Options) of shortcuts repeatedly.
  2. Open a New Orion Window no sign of Sidebar Icon, Open Sidebar with shortcut and close it. Open a New Orion Window , Now it's gone again. (Make the Orion Window a bit smaller say 75% of screen)

Expected behavior:
Something reliable and not confusing.

  1. Say If a shortcut from a similar category does something (Ctrl + Command + 1,2,3,4,) It should be common to things, I expected They would feel the same that Pressing the same shortcut would close what it opens in the sidebar (,1,4 options does this but not 2,3) but the behavior differs, sometimes unfavorably.
  2. At lease when having one or more windows, sidebar Icon should be there.

Sorry for the long video and, Cheers...

As far as I understand, RC version requires Orion+, which requires subscription or 150 lifetime. I'm a student mostly living off my parents until I get to a job. I don't think I can afford to get Orion+ Until I get some steady source of income. Sorry about the issue if it's not in the RC. Will test it out when the next beta version releases. ✌🏽

thuvasooriya You have Contributor status here, which gives you access to RC automatically. YOu just need to ping me on Orion discord to get it.

Vlad Sorry I forgot about this during past weeks because of my semester exams,

        there are some nitpicks 🙂

in the (ctrl command 2) show vertical tabs (maybe this has to do with some people turning the horizontal tabs off by default) it fails to activate sometimes and shows the windows menu sometimes. Usually it does the correct thing in the second activation (i tried both the menubar and via the shortcut) but I don't know where that one activation goes sometimes.
edit: found the issue 🙂 it's with animation delay of horizontal tabs during the activation of shortcut, but when you only have one tab it leaves no feedback and seems ignored.
        some other things I noticed.

show bookmarks tab switches to vertical tabs view instead of closing the sidebar when activated again (maybe this is a choice but I think someone can also say it as an inconsistency)

recording of side menu transitions with one tab

        with two tabs

my thought is that there is no need to switch to horizontal tabs with that command since it kind of breaks the flow.

another thing that is kind of annoying is you can only resize the sidebar for the tabs view and it resets when switching to window, bookmarks, or reading list.

this is all that I have noticed during the time I spent with some handy shortcuts with sidebar. will update if I found anything. again sorry for the delayed response

          Vlad yeah I guess so.

          1. individual sidebar view shortcuts should just open and close their respective menus on repeated activation, the only command that should remember the last opened sidebar type should be show sidebar. (This is the case for most shortcuts except for show vertical tabs and show bookmarks)
          2. the sidebar is only resizable during tabs view and it resets during changing sidebarview
            No one is typing
