Steps to reproduce:
Install Hypothesis or Zotero Connector from Chrome/Firefox Store, both of the extensions could not function as expected.
Expected behavior:
- Hypothesis supposed to be able to triggered by click on the extension icon, it will 1. then show marking number on current page on the icon badge, 2. display a menu on the right edge of the page, and 3. show a contextual popup menu when highlighting any text that allows user to mark texts.
Here is a screenshot of the extension working correctly on Vivaldi:
On Orion, the icon badge could be correctly displayed, but either the extension menu or contextual popup does not show at all. No noticeable information is spotted in the console. On the extension option page, the only option could be correctly displayed, but the console returns with an "Failed to load resource: The operation couldn’t be completed. (Orion.SchemeHandlerError error 2.)" message.
- The Zotero Connector is supposedly able to detect the content in current webpage (a book, an article, a webpage, etc.), show the corresponding icon, and send data to Zotero Desktop app when clicked. However, when installed on Orion, none of these functions work. The icon does not change according to the page content, and do not have any response when clicked. No noticeable information is spotted in the console. The extension option page could be opened but non of the settings could be correctly displayed, only two option tabs is shown and do not response to mouse click. A similar "Failed to load resource: The operation couldn’t be completed. (Orion.SchemeHandlerError error 2.)" in console.
Here are screenshots of the extension option page on Vivaldi and Orion:
