  • Switching MacOS desktop spaces, get sent back to original space

  • BugsDesktopDone

Steps to reproduce:
Have 2 Orion windows. Desktop space 1 and 3 have an Orion window. Desktop 2 does not. Start on Space 3 with Orion, switch to space 2 without Orion, pause briefly, switch to space 1 with Orion. Automatically get moved back to space 3. This only happens when pausing on space 2 before moving to 1.

Expected behavior:
Orion in space 1 should get focus, and the space should stay there. I think Orion in space 3 captures focus instead, so I get moved there.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Version 0.99.125-beta (WebKit 616.1.22)
Build date Jul 31 2023
MacBook Pro (macOS Ventura 13.5 build 22G74)

Vlad I can't reproduce this with Safari now. But I do remember an earlier version of Safari (last year or the year before) did have this bug.

@Vlad This behavior is still present as of 0.99.130.2-beta, which came out well after the Done tag was added. Did it get added back in at some point?

(I don't have RC installed on this computer yet to test it there, but I imagine it's the same, since this hasn't been touched in a while)

tuesday "Looks like disabling Preferences > Browsing > Open external links in Preview fixes this issue." ?

Can you create a new post please if ther eis something different than Safari?

Vlad Disabling that feature works around the issue, but it’s not a solution… I’m confused what you’re saying.

I’m not sure what you mean by “different than Safari”. Safari doesn’t have that feature as far as I’m aware?

I'm also seeing this bug where clicking on an orion browser window while another application has focus will switch active spaces. This is especially painful for full screen orion windows as orion will switch to a desktop space immediately upon switching to a full screen window, even if there are no other orion windows open. Disabling "Open external links in Preview" as noted by Jimothy fixes this. But that is a useful feature. Wondering if this is related to the fix for the preview windows instantly disappearing if launched from a full screen space.
