Image links produce blue question mark icons instead of their respective image files. This issue is recent, beginning immediately after the last Orion update. It persists across multiple websites regardless of whether compatibility mode is used or extensions are disabled/uninstalled. No problems with Chrome or Safari. This appears to be exclusive to shopping websites as far as I have observed and it seems to be oddly inconsistent.

Expected behavior:
Image links display the image files.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion Version 0.99.125-beta, macOS Monterey Version 12.6.3, 2015 Macbook Air

Vlad I'm not entirely sure how to clarify, images just don't load. I've experienced this issue simply by visiting websites and as I said it appears to be inconsistent. It's nothing to do with my settings because I didn't change anything and again, this issue began immediately after I most recently updated Orion. The only step I could suggest to reproduce the bug would be to attempt to view the websites in question. I'm curious as to if this may be a problem with the Shopify platform.

Subject: Image Loading Issue in Orion Browser

      Steps to Reproduce:

      1. Open the Orion browser.
      2. Visit the websites, for example: https://en.rotholz-store.com/collections/herren-sale/products/short-ribbed-merino-beanie-black-fw22 and https://www.kingsofindigo.com/products/neil-indigo?_pos=1&_sid=c39cd504f&_ss=r (you can click on other clothes on the websites and the outcome will probably be the same)
      3. Observe the presence of blue question marks where images should be displayed.

      Comparison with Safari Browser:

      • Safari accurately renders images on the same websites.
      • Within the Orion browser, most of the images do not load, accompanied by distinct error messages in the Console. These messages include instances of "XMLHttpRequest cannot load due to access control checks", "Resource blocked and Beacon API cannot load by content blocker."

      Key Observations and Nuances:

      1. Interestingly, the images causing the issue can be accessed successfully when opened in separate browser tabs. This serves to underline the accessibility of the images themselves.
      2. The consistent presence of "XMLHttpRequest cannot load due to access control checks" errors in the Orion Console suggests a potential issue with the browser's handling of cross-origin requests.

Hypothesized Cause and Clarification on Cross-Origin:
The prevailing "XMLHttpRequest cannot load" error often signifies restrictions imposed by the Same-Origin Policy on cross-origin requests. To clarify, this pertains to requests made to different domains. However, considering that both the website page and the image URLs reside within the same domain ("en.rotholz-store.com and www.kingsofindigo.com), the root cause may be more nuanced.

      Screenshots:
I've attached screenshots that show the blue question marks in the Orion browser, the specific error messages in the Console, and a comparison with how the images load correctly in Safari.

Accessing non-rendered image in New Window:

Leirk This seems to just be built in content blocker related. If you disable content blocker for this domain it should be ok.

Vlad Most of the erorrs from the console does indeed arise from the built-in content blocker! Not sure why it isn't working; if I disable the content blocker. I even tried it in new profiles. Oh me, oh my...

This appears resolved in Version 0.99.126.1-beta (WebKit 618.1.2) @Vlad

Hi, I'm running Orion for Mojave, I'm up to date with updates Version 0.99.127.3-beta (WebKit 619.1.1) and having that same issue, disabling content blockers is not solving the problem. Thanks in advance

Vlad in firefox mojave works all right with images, so I expect Orion to work as well

ag Firefox ships with its own webp support, while WebKit uses system - which does not exist in Mojave.
