Profile issues in 0.99.125

Steps to reproduce:

Opening a second profile causes massive performance issues for the second profile, like opening a website takes a minute with lots of spinning beach balls, scrolling causes freezes etc. It seems that it normalises itself after a couple minutes but there are still freezes when scrolling from time to time, just less frequent. Once I restart the second profile browser the issues are back more severely. There's no specific site that triggers this issue and I don't have any extensions.

So far I wasn't able to reproduce this with the first profile, I'll update my bug report if this changes.

Expected behavior:

Same or better performance as the previous beta.

If necessary I can add a video, it's just freezing and spinning beach ball while doing normal operations like opening a website or scrolling.

It's not a deterministic bug where I can easily post steps to reproduce. It happens randomly.

For this video I opened 4 websites in this profile (bravado.de, audd.io, lanaboards.com, news.ycombinator.com), and then closed / opened the profile and scrolled a bit around. See the massive freezes.

Here Orion starts to freeze when clicking on a thread. The second freeze happens when I quit the profile with CMD+Q.

Here the freeze happens when I click on the other tabs after a fresh profile start. This is not my internet connection being slow. On Bravado the browser also freezes during scrolling.

All of this behaviour never happened with the previous version.

guardiangate4110 Thanks. Can you also provide app process sampling during the freeze.

To do that go to activity monitor, click on Orion and then while it is frozen, click "sample this app". Send at least two samples.

I also encounter complete freezes in 0.99.125, slow reaction on clicking a field or button, or switching between tabs. Added a sample after sending a form.

After uninstalling Better Twitter (Firefox) and Consent-O-Matic (Chrome) the lockups are gone, but still using Bitwarden (Firefox - Popular extension) lags about 0,5 - 1 s on input.

One more sample. Bitwarden is locked (was unlocked before), show something with private mode - which is not activated.

Entering password in 5 seconds takes nearly a minute to get filled.

mschicker Mixing issues like this in a bug report is not advisiable. We need to focus on them by one and best is to have seperate bug report with detailed issue description.

Understood. But as the stalling and freezing is all over the place in this version, I think more of a general issue than a specific topic to tackle. Even if it runs without any interaction, there are lookups with complete freeze. So I just wanted to provide multiple samples of the same issue :-)

mschicker I do not experience any stalling or freezing with the new version as I assume vast majority of users (otherwise this site would be flooded with reports like this) so it is important to keep focused and help the team reproduce the issues you are facing.

So macOS Beta is common between both cases - so should I open a new issue - or wait for next beta ?

mschicker I also run latest Sonoma developer beta.

What would help is just clear description of the problem and steps to reproduce; one bug per open bug report.

I installed Orion RC and setup two new clean profiles – so far I'm unable to reproduce the issue. I think this can be closed, assuming the sample process file doesn't have anything interesting that can be improved.
