Preferred Language for website

This setting is to tell the website to show the language set by user.

In current version of Orion, I noticed that website always show in English by default.
While the same website I visit by firefox will show Chinese instead.

For example, I can set preferred language in this order. Chinese -> English -> Japanese.
If the Chinese version of the site is available, the site will show in Chinese.
If the Chinese version is not available, it will show English instead.
If the English version is not available, it will show Japanese instead.

If this gets implemented it might be worth including a 'privacy implications' notice to the user that adding multiple languages will increase the ability for them to be fingerprinted.

It looks like Brave has done some work around supporting multiple languages while trying maintaining anonymity: https://brave.com/privacy-updates/17-language-fingerprinting/ (might be some ideas Orion could implement there too, like randomising the q value). Meanwhile Chromium has a proposal apparently in testing to stop sending multiple language in the Accept-Language header: https://chromestatus.com/feature/5188040623390720

It'd be great if I can set a browser-wide language preference (for all websites) at least.

Isn't this a system-wide setting of MacOS?

Is it? My system uses Japanese as system language, and that's the default in all other apps except Orion. Ofc I'm not talking about the Orion UI language (where Japanese is not fully translated yet), but the language preference for websites (Accept-Language header).

stonekyx The web browser should ideally pass on the system-wide language preference to the websites, shouldn't it?

carl Yeah, I'd be good if Orion does that at least. Either way, eventually I hope Orion supports setting a different language for each website.

Edit: Actually I noticed that Orion already passes system language preference to all websites, so that's my bad and @carl was right. The ask in the original post still holds nevertheless.
