Brief Summary
Lots of people these days are doomscrolling and it is eating up their time. There are no ways on iOS to remove the nonsensical suggestions Instagram and YouTube keep feeding us with. I know 2 good browser extensions that remove the unlimited stream of random reels, pictures, and videos and keep Instagram only stories/messages based and YouTube only search based (you can customize for other features too). These are Antigram Explore Blocker and Unhook YouTube Recommendation Remover.

Details:
People will be able to save time and not get stuck in the social media rabbit hole. They can choose what they want to watch and be active in their daily social lives by being able to talk to people on the platform without getting addicted to reels.

This seems to be about extensions. Please add URLs for these extensions.

As a note, prhaps not using Instagram or YouTube at all is a better solution for the problem?

I think including some integration with the one sec app could be useful, too! This is something I have been working on with the app’s creator for the Fedigardens app, which calls a URL for specified actions (refresh, fetch more, etc.).

      Addendum:
(I am updating this now that I'm at a keyboard)

The abstract I described above would be an app integration in Orion, not a web extension. I'll break down how the interventions work for Fedigardens (Mastodon client), which could be used as a template for Orion's implementation:

      1. A specific action calls the onesec://reintervene?appId=fedigardens app URL. Currently, this occurs whenever a user pulls down to refresh, or if the user presses the "Load More" button to load more posts.
      2. one sec will open, if installed, and show a breathing exercise.
      3. If the user confirms that they want to continue, one sec calls the caller's app URL (gardens://) and supplies information back about how long before the next intervention can be issued and other information.
      4. Fedigardens stores this data and listens for when a user performs an action that triggers a re-intervention. If it happens before the timeout, the action continues as normal, and if it fails, steps 1-3 are applied.

I also have the source code for this open at https://github.com/alicerunsonfedora/fedigardens/tree/devel/Packages/Interventions, for everyone's perusal.

Vlad the link. Discovered Orion for myself just yesterday and was quick to switch, however the lack of compatibility with the extension or any of the analogues left me totally frustrated in the end. As for the note - personally I don't see any benefits in giving up a platform completely instead of being able to configure it to my own needs with a small extension.
