Brief Summary
Posting a comment on a feedback forum post automatically upvotes it, however that should be opt-in behaviour since just commenting on something doesn't necessarily mean you support the feature request.

Edit: To clarify, creating a suggestion/bug report should continue to add you as a voter, but commenting on an existing thread should not.

That feature works exactly like Reddit's upvotes. Your "automatical upvote" doesn't support a feature or something, it's just a starting number.

Edit: nvm my reply, I was wrong and misunderstood OP. This really has to be changed.

It appears liking a comment within a thread also adds you as a voter so that would be another action that should be updated to not automatically upvote after.

We do this as the number of upvotes is relatively low. Vast number of posts of which there are 2000+ here have only 1 or two upvotes. So any signal we can have about a thread being interesting for us is useful and someone taking time to comment is such signal. You can simply undo your upvote to revert this.
