Safari, Chrome, Brave uses control+tab and control+shift+tab shortcuts for switching tabs. Whereas this shortcut does not work in Orion.

So to ensure uniformity, Orion should also change the shortcut to same as Safari.

Even if I change the shortcut using System Settings, the new shortcut works only on Start Page and not on any other tab.

The Ask here is:

Since the shortcut for Show Previous Tab and Show Next Tab across browsers (Safari, Chrome, Brave, ...) in macOS is control+tab and control+shift+tab, Orion should also ship with this shortcut as default.

If Orion aims to replace Safari as daily browser, one of the most important thing is to keep keyboard shortcuts same, so that every user (new or old) feels right at home.

Update: The new shortcut sometimes does not work.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Version 0.99.124.4.1-beta (WebKit 616.1.14.11.1)
macOS Ventura 13.4.1

Na, the Safari short cuts are not that convienient, especially since macOS and also other OS use already Tab in Combination with CMD/CTRL to switch between applications, which is handy and already in users mind. I rather suggest to implement in later step of Orion, a dedicated Settings for "ShortCuts", with a Button to restore "Default" values of the Application ShortCuts. This way you can address a level of convinience wherever the user is coming from and used with its own preferences of "Shortcuts" and free to customize it the way he likes. Does this sounds like an Idea ?

      Orion already does use control-(shift-)tab

control-(shift-)tab is the standard for switching between tabs for literally all browsers on macos

you can edit these shortcuts in system settings. see https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/keyboard-shortcuts-mchlp2262/mac#mchl5f3b139a

joystmp This is for tab switcher UI, which is not the same as Next Tab and Previous Tab shortcut.

          Oh, understood
          you mean these:

joystmp Can you clarify how to reproduce "sometimes"?

Please post exact steps to reproduce.

Vlad I do not have a way to reproduce that.

But what happened was, the new shortcut worked only on Start Page and not on any other tab. But this happened only when Bitwarden extension was installed. After uninstalling Bitwarden extension, this issue has not occurred.

So, I'm guessing, that the extension might be interfering somehow.

Will leave this under clarification until the ask here is better defined.

Honestly, but that is of course a personal percption, I never liked the Safari Shortcuts for shifting between Tabs for and back using cmd -> . and I also changed under /Settings/App-Shortcuts for Safari also using cmd+ctrl + arrows for Safari. Thats fare more convient for me. There you can change for your own any Application Short Cut for your own, also for Orion. Simply add first the App "Orion" secondly you can enter the current short cut, followed how as it should be for you. That easy. And this solves also the Problem, because, every Human is different in his own preferences, especially when it comes to Shortcuts. Apple address this sentens since almost 15 years, where users can simply override for any application the shortcuts as the user likes to use...

                    Go to Settings/App-Keyboard Shotcuts
