I like to keep some tabs open in the background, but some play notification sounds. I'd like to be able to mute the tab without having to wait for a notification.

right click > mute tab
chrome and firefox both always have it as an option
It should be able to be added as an option when alternate clicking the address bar of a website.
Currently, Orion implements tab playback mute in practically the same way as Safari. You have to play media, and only then the volume icon will appear in the tab enabling you to mute the tab. However, Chrome, for example, implements this in what I think is a better way, i.e. they allow you to mute the tab even before the playback starts.
Ideally, the "Mute tab/site" option should be available here even if no playback is active:
Dupe of https://orionfeedback.org/d/540-allow-muting-tabs-even-when-its-not-playing-anything/10. Flagged as dupe.
I think this is a feature now no? so can be marked as done
I think its a bit confussing tho that there is no icon showing the tab is muted. the icon only appears when sound is playing, but in the use case he is talking about, where it is for notifications. he might not even notice he has it muted
