The Bitwarden extension allows integration of a SimpleLogin API Key to automatically generate email addresses. In testing, Orion with both the Chrome and Firefox Bitwarden extension give an error:

I have tested the following:

  • Bitwarden desktop
  • Bitwarden Chrome on a Chromium browser
  • Bitwarden Firefox on Firefox
  • Bitwarden Safari

In these cases, a generated API key works as expected. The issue appears to be isolated to Orion specifically.

If there's some means of helping you troubleshoot this, please let me know.

    1) Generate an API key from SimpleLogin dashboard
    2) Open Bitwarden extension
    3) Navigate to Generator -> Username -> Forwarded email alias
    4) Select SimpleLogin under Service dropdown
    5) Enter API key
    6) Click refresh icon (Regenerate username) to test

Error posted at top results. Expected behaviour is for it to generate an address.

Dustin Thanks, always post steps to reproduce with a bug report.

Any news on that topic? It greatly reduces the login generator. Or a similar topic, when an extension is both available for chrome or firefox, which one should we prefer? Also, Is the support of safari extensions on the roadmap?

Dustin issue is still there as of today, not sure why it hasn't been labeled as planned yet.
@Vlad do you mind taking a look at this? It's a really nice feature that Bitwarden offers for privacy and we'd like to get the benefits of it, since we care about privacy as Orion users 😃
steps to reproduce are correctly written by Dustin , I will also leave a screen record on streamable
        Thanks for your attention

not sure why it hasn't been labeled as planned yet.

Only 3 developers, 2,000 other open issues, and percentage of all Orion users using this particular feature being relatively small are all contributing factors.

Contrary to what it may look like, picking issues to prioritize is not random. How we prioritize:
          https://orionfeedback.org/d/953-touch-bar-support/27

And even with a tiny team, just in this release we tackled over 100 issues, much more than any other browser vendor in their regular releases does:

How can users help to accelerate progress? Get Orion+ and support the project. Otherwise our community is already fantastic with their engagement and contribution.
