Control+Return in address bar to append ".com" and navigate
what ive noticed is that ctrl-enter, and enter just choose the first suggested result in safari
eirk Sorry this took a while. Here's a video comparing the behavior of Safari, Chrome, and Orion.
Note that in Safari, you have to hold control for a moment before hitting return. Not sure why they do that. It can also help to either use a private window or disable Siri suggestions, otherwise the autocomplete will usually fill in first for most common sites.
Sorry to resurrect this post but I have muscle memory for the same shortcuts coming from Firefox and Chromium based browsers. Safari as far as I can tell does not. In Firefox for example I can type "randomwebsite" in to the address bar and hit control+enter and it will attempt to navigate me to www.randomwebsite.com
You can see Chrome's keyboard shortcuts for this under "Address bar shortcuts" here: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/157179?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop#zippy=%2Caddress-bar-shortcuts
Not a dealbreaker for my attempts to switch over to Orion full time but definitely a bit of muscle memory I keep tripping up on.

First off thanks to @Vlad and the team for implementing this. I've upgraded to Version 0.99.130-beta (WebKit 621.1.2.111.4) this morning but control+return still just acts the same as return, it just sends the string in the address bar to my default search engine. Is there an option in settings or flags that I need to enable?
technoterry Works as expected for me. Record a video?
Hey @Vlad It's very weird. It works on my personal machine but not on my work computer and they're using the same hardware. I'll do some more investigation and see if I can narrow down why.
