Web push notifications support/enhancement (iOS)

Unfortunately this won’t be possible on iOS browsers — push notifs are being handled differently on iOS 16.4 than they are on macOS.

On iOS, they are only available for PWAs (webapps), so the user cannot simply visit a website in their browser and request notifs from it. They must first install the website to their home screen.

Vlad It’s intended to work automatically, provided a site implemented the APIs properly. Unfortunately, web push support for websites is a technical limitation by Apple.

In the documentation they make a distinction between websites and web apps, in addition to iOS and desktop capabilities:

Add web push to Home Screen web apps in iOS 16.4 or later and Webpages in Safari 16 for macOS 13 or later.

Web push notifications should be implemented because this would save people battery and space on their devices and it should be implemented like safari is on iOS 16.4
