Crashing and hanging on Intel-based Mac?

I tried, once again to update to the latest beta from 13 February. 5 crashes and hangs within 2 minutes. All crash logs sent to Apple for review, dont know if that helps anything. I am back to Version 0.99.122-beta (WebKit 615.1.11.7) restored from my Timemachine.
iMac (macOS Ventura 13.2.1 build 22D68), Intel 27".

I dunno whats wrong, at some point, I guess, a clean install would be an option, I just hate losing all my bookmarks, tabs and sessions that would need re-validation, e.g. onllne banking etc..

Is anyone else able to replicate on the latest version using an Intel-based Mac?

Crashes for me every time I update. I have to roll back the update, it's unusable. Immediately after updating it crashes. I reopen, it asks to send logs. I send and immediately crashes again. I noticed that if I open a website on the blank tab (with the report modal open), and then send the report, it no longer crashes. But it crashes again after I close all tabs.

I'm on Apple Silicon if it helps, but rn Orion cannot be used as a daily productivity driver. It is too unstable, so while I support it, moving back to safari.

forest9 Very strange. That is not my experience at all. I am running on Intel-based Macs but I suspect most people here are running on Apple Silicon. Have you tried downloading a fresh version and starting with a clean profile? Not that you should have to do that everytime for it to work but rather just to isolate the problem.

bzgnyc I did. I have been trying to upgrade for about 3 months now.
I have 2 Apple Silicon macs. On the first one, I upgraded and crashes started. Luckily I had the old version sitting in my downloads folder, so I just reverted. I have since then cleaned up.

On my other device, I assumed that after such a long time, and reading release notes there were some mentions of fixes for this, so I updated and guess what, same crashes with no way to downgrade.

forest9 Not sure why you are experiencing this issue -- I suspect a profile/etc issue -- but you can downgrade:

You didn't say which version worked for you on which Mac/version, but if you wanted V0.99.125 for Sonoma, you would paste this link into your browser:

After opening the zip file, the result will be a Universal binary version of the app that you can move to your desired location.

If you can tell us which version of Orion worked on which version of macOS and hardware that would help us help you.

forest9 Thanks for sharing. Is there a reason why you haven't updated Sonoma in the last year? Sonoma 14.7 is the latest and gather most people are on Sonoma 14.6 or later. Your crashes may be an interaction with Orion and bugs in older versions of Sonoma.

Also I am on Orion Version 0.99.128.2.1.1-rc and have found it and found the most recent versions most reliable (from rough memory really hitting its stride somewhere around 0.99.128.1.x or 2.x).
