Clone sidebar set-up for new window

I want to set my bookmarks as the default for sidebar instead showing tab groups.

mazil Currently if you leave sidebar in Bookmarks, it will toggle back to Bookmarks? What is exactly the ask if this does not work for you, and where do you want this setting to be?

Vlad This is more about when I open a new window. For the current window, if I set the sidebar to Bookmarks, it will stay as bookmarks. But when I open a new window, the sidebar will show as tab groups. So I am thinking let the user change the sidebar to permanently be bookmarks.

mazil So basically the ask is to copy the open sidebar setting of the previous window, when opening the new window. Whatever is on the sidebar there should be in the new window (or if sidebar is clsoed then nothing).

Vlad I am thinking it might be good to have an option for "default setting" instead of just copying the previous setting (if I understand you correctly by "copy"). This is because if one user is constantly using tab groups but one day the user changes to bookmarks and doesn't change it back the user might still expect to use his usual setting -- tab groups -- when he opens a new window next time? My recommendation is in the "View" tab, there is a "customize sidebar" options to let you select which types of sidebar should be the default one whenever you open a window (or something like this).
