Sidebar animation flawed

Sidebar animation seems to do alot of weird things jumping a bit and not very smooth

Steps to reproduce:

Open side bar and look at animation

Expected behavior:

To work like Safari smothly scaling page

Its less noticable on this gif since its less frames, very noticable in real use, especially compared to Safari

Theres also something weird about how the side moves in on the page compared to the adress bar they dont align.

I agree with this. Orion should copy the sidebar animation in Safari TP

The feature request if for improving the animation of sidebar showing and hiding.
It will make the animation seem less laggy and more smooth and thus the overall browsing experince to feel more snappy!!

here is a video of the current animation.

It would be nice to make the "1 Tab" button after hiding the sidebar to show immediatley after the sidebar hides.
it would also be nice to reduce the anmiation of resizing the current tab page and make the items of the tab page regroup more instantenously. (like what is shown in firefox)

Just to add to this, opening the sidebar is very choppy in 0.99.126.4.1.7-rc

This is subjective but I'd like to add that I find the sidebar animation is too long.

If the sidebar is hidden and I press the keyboard shortcut to show/hide it two or three times very fast, then only one action is performed (it only shows the sidebar and it's not hidden).

For example, I find that doing the same thing in Arc browser has a much nicer feeling, the animation is smooth and fast, and the sidebar is opened/hidden the number of times the shortcut was pressed:

I don't think it has been fixed yet.

Also it seems like there is some weird behavior during the animation where the window/screen (not sure what exactly) is duplicated and it shows for a fraction of a second.

It looks like the duplicated view appears in the foreground and fades-out but in the background the original page seems to be resizing correctly as the viewport size changes.

I also see it on @mazil's video although it's not as heavy as this video I just took (also I think macOS screen capture makes it even more obvious):

EDIT: I realize this is not exactly about the animation of the sidebar itself, I can create another issue for this if you prefer.
