kahnclusions This is exactly how I use Firefox containers as well. I use a combination of Firefox profiles AND containers. My profiles use case is different browser extensions or browser settings. My containers are to separate things such as google, meta, finance, different MS accounts, etc. I heavily use BOTH concepts. All the containers in a profile all have the same extensions/browser settings.

So clear that this is a huge desire from the userbase, been promised for YEARS, and still nothing? This is why I keep using Zen. Well, that and Bitwarden biometric authentication, which has been broke every time I've came back to give Orion a try as well.

sreza they didn't bait and switch anything, Vlad said this feature should be at the top of the queue early next year, things change in development, and priorities get shifted.

A feature like this surely takes a lot of time and effort to build and perfect. Firefox released this extension 13 years after Firefox came out, and who knows how long it was actually in development, not forgetting the fact that Firefox's team is likely far larger than Orion's.

I would also love to see this feature, and hopefully it comes in the future, but until then I'm happy to use Firefox/Zen/Librewolf for this function.

To be fair, working on a project like this is exhausting just from a technical point let alone trying to find nice ways to let users down by telling them you haven't done everything they've asked for.

Getting these things right is hard and takes time. I'm sure the team are doing the best they can in the situation they're in. They clearly care about this project. If we're lucky we'll see something but if not, we're lucky we have Firefox/Zen.

I agree but from what I read on this thread, they had assured people it would be released at the beginning of 2025. I just emailed the team about it and it seems like they have no plans to release it and are focused on stability rather than features.

Thank you for reaching out. We know many users are interested in this feature but we have been focusing more on stability than adding new features.
